Ridder, formerly known as Leninogorsk is a city in the East Kazakhstan Region. It is situated in the south-western Altai Mountains. The Altai Range stretches over 4 countries: Russia, China, Mongolia and Kazakhstan.
Ridder is a unique ski touring place for an unforgettable powder skiing in the woods. It gets early and heavy snowfall every year, so this region has “deep powder” already during November. During December the snow regularly reaches a thickness of up to three metres. We can enjoy the excellent snow conditions from November to March.

Ancient and mysterious Altai is full of beuty and legends. Taiga forest with cedars, pines, spruces, and birches harbour big wildlife like elks and bears. Masses of snow and the quality of the powder have never been disappointing. This is ski touring trip that is bound to leave you with long-lasting memories.

Day 1
Arrival in Ust-Kamenogorsk, the capital of the region in eastern Kazakhstan. Transfer to the mountain lodge (160 km, about 2-2.5 hours). The lodge is situated at a height of 1200 m. Our accommodation is simple, but it's very cosy. It has a stove heating and creates the atmosphere of a true Altai expedition.
DAY 2 - 3
Ski-touring / splitboarding from the lodge on the Ivanovsky Range. It is possible to use an off road vehicle to drive to the beginning of the route. Ascent is 800 – 1200 m. Back at our accommodation we enjoy a dinner and a banya (a type of sauna, a kind of steam bath).
DAY 4
Transfer about 30 min. to the steading Berezovka. Ski-touring / splitboarding on the Ivanovsky Range. Ascent is 1000 m. Descent to the car and then transfer to the gest house Edelweiss (at a height of 640m).
DAY 5 - 6
After short transfer we have ski-touring / splitboarding on the Ivanovsky Range. Ascent is 1000 -1400 m.
DAY 7
Ski-touring / splitboarding on Anatau (1860 m).
Day 8
Transfer to the Ust-Kamenogorsk Airport.
